Pendle Pub Walk organisers have announced the winner of their Name The Beer competition for PPW 2013
And it's the alliterative name of 'Hospice Hooch' that has hooked happiness for Michael Leape of Fence (pictured).
He wins a crate (1.5 gallons) of Worsthorne Brewing Company's first bottled beer 'Old Trout', as well as a Worsthorne Brewing Company pint-glass and polo shirt.
Everyone at PPW would like to thank Worsthorne Brewing Company, who have produced a special beer for PPW 2013 - and we'd also like to thank everyone that suggested names for the beer over the last few months. Over 80 this year!
The winning entry was picked by Mick Whittaker - owner and brewer at Worsthorne Brewing Company - and a pump clip (pictured) has been created already, featuring the famous Pendleside Hospice logo.
'Hospice Hooch' is a golden bitter (ABV 3.6%) which is light and hoppy, and it will be available in all the pubs which serve as way-points along the route of PPW 2013.
PPW Paul (the admin-monkey) said: "It's a great name for the beer! Everyone loves a bit of alliteration. Especially with beer names. And having the Hospice in there reminds us all what we're doing this for."
He added... "It's not just the beer that will make this year's event special. All the pubs are doing something for registered walkers. The food all sounds fantastic. And the Pendle Pub Walk Tshirts? It's all shaping up for a great day of fun and fund-raising. So if you're not registered and raising sponsorship for Pendleside Hospice already, get registered ASAP."
