Pendle Pub Walk organisers have announced they are teaming up with Worsthorne Brewing Company for the 2013 charity walk
The Briercliffe based micro-brewery - run by Mick Whittaker (pictured) - will be brewing a beer for the popular annual fund-raiser, which will be served in 9 out of the 10 pubs during PPW 2013. It will be a light summer beer, similar to the popular beers they already provide to the local area.

"We're delighted to be onboard with Pendle Pub Walk. It's a marvellous event raising funds for Pendleside Hospice, and if we can support them just by making some beer we're more than happy to do so."
There's a free competition to find a name for this beer on the Pendle Pub Walk website, and just like in previous years, a prize for the winner. Whoever comes up with the winning name will win over a gallon (12x 500ml bottles) of Worsthorne Brewing Company's first bottled beer - 'Old Trout' - as well as a 'Worsthorne Brewing Company' polo shirt and pint glass.
Paul Trudgill - one of the orgainisers of PPW - said...
"There can't be many people in the area who haven't heard of Worsthorne Brewing Company. They seem to have come from nowhere over the last couple of years, to being a massive local name for great beer. And because the beer they make is so good, it's being sold everywhere you go now. I really like the 'Packhorse' beer, and the 'Some Like It Blonde'. And it sounds like the beer being made for Pendle Pub Walk will be a session ale, coloured somewhere in the middle of those two. So I can't wait to try it.
"Naming the beer is always great fun. The names people come up with? We get all sorts, and we always want more wonderful suggestions. But just keep it family-friendly, please. People can read through old suggestions on our website for inspiration. Previously we have been sponsored by Moorhouses Brewery, and we are eternally grateful to them. But we're trying a different brewery this year, and I'm looking forward to seeing how people will name this beer, compared with all the usual witch-related names."
