PPW Is Back Again

Pendle Pub Walk is back again - So all you walkers out there get the date in your diaries - Saturday 15th June 2013

The Rotary Club of Burnley Pendleside are again organising the walk to raise money for that hugely-deserving cause, Pendleside Hospice.

As ever, we aim to give all ages a great day out walking through the beautiful Pendle countryside with a chance to visit local pubs and inns for refreshment on the way. Last year, many people walked in groups of friends or family, adding to the fun and we invite you to again either register as an individual or as a team.

Last year, thanks to 700 people of all ages taking part, Pendle Pub Walkers raised over £22,000 for Pendleside Hospice, with money still coming in. And that was just the walkers. By keeping costs to a minimum, there was over £5000 left from the walkers registration fees. ALL OF WHICH has gone to Rotary charities. These include Medecins San Frontier, ShelterBox, Sightsavers and WaterAid.

"Again... there will be an engraved tankard awarded to the individual who brings in the most sponsor money. We also have a local real-ale specialist brewery - chomping at the bit - waiting to brew some beer for thirsty walkers. The 'Name The Beer' competition, Tshirts, food offers, it's all coming back!

"Walk? And Drink? And raise money for all these great causes? It's a no-brainer. Ima go practice."
