PPW organisers have announced that a prize will be awarded to the person who collects the most sponsorship money for PPW 2010

The prize is a unique engraved tankard and will be for the winner to keep.

The circular walk - scheduled to start from 11am on Sunday 6th June (2010) - is organised by Rotarians from Burnley Pendleside Club. The charitable event will this year raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK and Derian House, the children's hospice.

PPW Grahame, one of the organisers of the walk, said: "We backing two really worthy charities, so we wanted to give an incentive to walkers to raise that bit more money."

He added: "We've had a fantastic response so far with over 100 people having registered to take part on the walk. However, places are still available and there's still time for people to register ahead of the day.

"Equally, we'll be taking registrations on the day, though as it may take some time, my advice is that with good weather forecast for the weekend, get yourself registered for what should be a great day out.

"All the pubs on the course of the walk have really got behind the event, with some offering complimentary sandwiches and discounts on food, whilst others have made very generous donations to the charities."
