A message from Grahame & Paul Trudgill - organisers of PPW 2013

First of all, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved with Pendle Pub Walk 2013.

THANK YOU

The pubs, the pub staff, the Rotary guys, the volunteers, the walkers, the weather - everything was just great, and everyone seemed to have a marvellous time. We can't thank you all enough - a special thank you to Christina from Pendleside Hospice, Mick from Worsthorne Brewing Company for the beer, and Neil at The Sparrowhawk - many other people deserve special thanks too, but there's just too many of you - sorry.

The route was spectacular this year, and wasn't that 12 miles easy? But now comes the hard bit - and the most important bit. Collecting sponsorship! All sponsorship monies are to be given directly to Pendleside Hospice - with your sponsor sheets...

Even though by limiting the numbers this year so we had less walkers, the pledges we received on the morning indicate that we should raise just as much funds as we did last year. Over £20,000! An amazing result, especially in these tough economic times. And that is just from walker's sponsorship pledges. There's another £5000 from donations, registration fees, etc. So we should have raised over £25,000 for charity again this year! An amazing achievement, but all the numbers will be crunched as we get all the sponsorship in.

After such a great event this year, we're looking forward to (and already planning) PPW 2014.
