Worsthorne Beer Again For PPW

19 Mar 2014

Pendle Pub Walk organisers have announced they are teaming up with Worsthorne Brewing Company again, for the 2014 charity walk

Just like in 2013, the Briercliffe based micro-brewery - run by Mick Whittaker (pictured) - will be making a special beer for the popular annual fund-raiser.

It will be a light & hoppy summer beer which will be served in most (probably all) of the pubs on the 2014 route, and this beer needs naming. Mick Whittaker - owner & brewer at Worsthorne Brewing Company - had this to say...

"Of course we wanted to get involved with Pendle Pub Walk again. Pendleside Hospice is a great cause, and if we can help them out by making beer and giving away a few competition prizes, we're more than happy to do that. Good luck to everyone entering the Name The Beer competition."

As is tradition now, there is a free competition to find a name for this beer, on the Pendle Pub Walk website, and just like in previous years, a prize for whoever comes up with the winning entry - a gallon of Worsthorne beer, as well as a WBC Tshirt & glass.

Paul Trudgill - one of the organisers of PPW - said...

"Everyone organising Pendle Pub Walk is delighted to be teaming up with Worsthorne Brewing Company again. Mick is a top bloke, always willing to help out our charity, and the beer he makes is just fantastic.

"The Name The Beer competition is one of my favourite things about Pendle Pub Walk. A light & hoppy summer beer? Plenty of opportunity for names there for a start. If you come up with the winning name, I think the best prize is being immortalised on a pump-clip, and being a part of PPW history."
