Pendle Pub Walk organisers are proud to announce that they have a date for PPW 2014 - Saturday 14th June - and registration is now open

The Rotary Club of Burnley Pendleside (pictured) are again organising the popular annual sponsored walk, with Pendleside Hospice - a local charity close to all of our hearts - benefiting from the fund-raising.

This will be the sixth year for Pendle Pub Walk, which aims to give all ages a great day out walking through the beautiful Pendle countryside, using it's finest hostileries as waypoints. Paul Trudgill - one of the organisers of the event - had this to say...

"Yes, we're back, and with all the usual things walkers have experienced through the previous Pendle Pub Walks. The unique engraved tankard - awarded to the individual who brings in the most sponsorship. A special beer for the pubs, brewed by a local real-ale specialist. A competition to name that beer. The unique PPW Tshirts. Fantastic food offers from the pubs. It's all coming back!

"There is a twist again with the route this year, which we're not announcing just yet, but walkers will see what I mean when they go to register on Pendleside Hospice's website."

For PPW 2013, there was over £17,000 raised for Pendleside Hospice via walker's sponsorship. Additionally - by keeping admin costs to a minimum - there was another £4,500 left over from registration fees which went to Rotary charity. In 2013 recipients included...
